News: Repost: Translation Help needed

FreakinMeany FreakinMeany — April 2, 2012
We're looking for individuals to help with translation for Mapraider 2.0. If you or someone you know has a knowledge of gaming terminology, and is interested in donating some time to translate small bits of text from English, please contact us and let us know.

Based on Mapraider traffic over the last few years, we're hoping to start with translations for Dutch, French, German and Spanish, but any contributions are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks, i see you updated the site for the latest translation. Right now i am working on the last fixes. And about the error, here one example:

%mapname% is a %gametypes% map for %gamesystem% released by %authors% - if i try to edit one sentence, or alphabet, i got this error: The number of arguments seems to differ between the source string and the translation. (Before you ask: Of course i am not tried to edit the %mapname%, %gametypes%, %gamesystem% strings.)

Check it out please and maybe together we can figure out something. (I thought to download the string file and fix it manually in a text editor but before it i would like to ask you, what do you think about this idea?)

Okay Freak, i just waiting for your approving :) I hope this one will work correctly :)

Had a very busy month (exams, internet breakage, Xmas mapping contest etc.) I'm terribly sorry that this happened :( Any chance you guys can forgive me?
I hope I'll finally finish this.
EDIT: FreakinMeany, where did you put the Lithuanian translation?
  • FreakinMeany FreakinMeany — January 16, 2013
@szogyenyi: Strange! It must be confused and not counting right. I've approved your account with the new editor, so try that one and see if it works okay instead.

@GEx: No need to apologize! Sorry to hear about internet breaking. Not fun. I'm glad to have you involved :) You can find the Lithuanian localizations in the new POEditor tool (links in my post above) or you can continue to use Transifex -- I've put the translations back there for you now since szogyeni and others have already moved to the new tool. Either one is fine though (though I would prefer POEditor so I can quit paying for Transifex), just let me know which one you end up using so I don't download the wrong files :)

I'll try the POeditor thingie, but I accidently pushed Lithuanian AND English there... Thanks for letting me finish this ;)
As for the internet break, yeah it sucks cuz I have to write such long messages with a phone :D my thumbs hurt!

It's looks like i am done. If you want you could upload the final language file, but i think i will not work with it more time :) It's done :) Yeah about the Accounts strings, a know it's not 100% but i have no tip what is that String1 want to be so i didn't poke it.
  • FreakinMeany FreakinMeany — January 16, 2013
@GEx: You'll need to join all five projects (sorry). POEditor is a little different.

@szogyenyi: It's 100% now :) Thanks for pointing out that "String1" bug. And extra thanks for all the work you did.

By the way, if everyone who helped could let me know:
    • If it's okay to list your name in the Mapraider 2's credits? (I will assume yes if no response), and
    • If yes, how would you like your name displayed? (I will assume just your Mapraider alias if no response)
  • szogyenyi szogyenyi — January 16, 2013
It's would be a very great honor for me if my name role on the credit list. Could i type here my real name or send it in private message? It's not a problem to share it here for me :D
  • GEx GEx — January 16, 2013
Wow, that poeditor is quite more comfortable then transifex :D
as for the credits, I would also be honoured. And yea, I guess I choose my mapraider nickname.

EDIT: hm... I thought I finished the 4 other sections of my translation, I guess I missed a couple of strings there (oops!)...

    Ow... My thumbs again!
