News: Repost: Translation Help needed

FreakinMeany FreakinMeany — April 2, 2012
We're looking for individuals to help with translation for Mapraider 2.0. If you or someone you know has a knowledge of gaming terminology, and is interested in donating some time to translate small bits of text from English, please contact us and let us know.

Based on Mapraider traffic over the last few years, we're hoping to start with translations for Dutch, French, German and Spanish, but any contributions are welcome and appreciated.

    I see :(
Just so you know, I'm trying to finish the last (huge) ones offline...

    Still nothing? :(

Now that I flunked the mapping contest, I'll have more time translating, I WILL finish it!

Could you just open up again the Hungarian lang file in Transifex? I could finish it under one day.
  • FreakinMeany FreakinMeany — January 8, 2013
@szogyenyi: Yes, I'll do that as soon as I can and let you know.

@szogyenyi: I've put the Hungarian localizations back on Transifex, but I need to update beta.mapraider.com with the latest build (it is REALLY out of date and broken). I'll be updating it in just a few hours though. Will update my post here when it's done.

Thanks! I will update and fix it this weekend. I'll indicate here if i am done with the work.

Something wrong with the Transifex. I would like to retranslate some strings, but sometimes i have this error: The number of arguments seems to differ between the source string and the translation. I can't edit the commands, like %maxloginattempts%, only the text, and i always have the same error. What could i do in this case?

Anyway, the missing strings are translated, they are ready to put them in the webpage in favor of the better testing and fixing ;)

Thanks szogyeni. Can you tell me one of the strings you are getting the error on? I'll try to reproduce it and see if it's something wrong with my file I'm uploading to them.

I've got the beta.mapraider.com site updated with the latest build, so it should be working again. I'll update the new string translations you provided in just a few hours.

Edit: I've also now updated the rest of the localizations. Let me know if everything looks okay and we'll let someone else finish up their translations next :) Thanks again!

FYI: I'm trying out a new online translation tool (it's free and I was able to put all languages in at once). If you'd like to give it a shot, I've added all the localizations to it as well. The only downside is that each resource group had to be split up into separate projects. Other than that it seems pretty cool. You'll need to visit the following links and select the languages you want to be involved in for each:
    • Global Resources: http://www.poeditor.com/join/project?hash=ef842f243b35d319c59da0943ebdce1f
    • Aacount Resources: http://www.poeditor.com/join/project?hash=1507b90d6f667411c7c663da5a3f5519
    • Errors Resources: http://www.poeditor.com/join/project?hash=28801f690e6e277d66963a7a2a357d6c
    • External Resources: http://www.poeditor.com/join/project?hash=b7538701252179d35c8dc3c686bac360
    • Titles Resources: http://www.poeditor.com/join/project?hash=a91ff79e26686bd5e7035799c73b0f56

After you join each and activate, I'll need to approve your request. Once approved, you can click the language on your project page and start translating. You'll need to click on the "Language Options" button and choose "Set Reference Language" and pick English to have the text-to-be-translated appear on the left.
