News: Repost: Translation Help needed

FreakinMeany FreakinMeany — April 2, 2012
We're looking for individuals to help with translation for Mapraider 2.0. If you or someone you know has a knowledge of gaming terminology, and is interested in donating some time to translate small bits of text from English, please contact us and let us know.

Based on Mapraider traffic over the last few years, we're hoping to start with translations for Dutch, French, German and Spanish, but any contributions are welcome and appreciated.

    1. I'll have to check that (used my schools PC then with the SeaMonkey browser).
    2. Nope, most of Mapraider was in Lithuanian, except the text that I haven't translated yet.
    3. Only noticed the ''recently added'' pop-ups, I'll go check at Monday.
EDIT: For some reason I couldn't open the betasite today...

    Hey team:

Thanks again for all of your help with translating Mapraider 2. I just wanted to let you all know that I'm getting ready to make an announcement regarding the launch of Mapraider 2.

There's no rush or requirement to complete, but if you'd like your translation work to be part of the official launch announcement, or if you still have some adjustments you'd like to make, please be sure to complete them as soon as you can within the next two weeks. Dutch, Hungarian and Spanish are complete and Danish, French, Italian and German are still in progress. Lithuanian is so close to being complete that I will probably launch with it in either way :)

Also, if you haven't already, please let me know how you'd like your name to appear in the credits. You can see how your name currently appears in the current credits listing in the last question "Who created Mapraider?" on the FAQ page of the beta site.

Lastly, one important note -- the beta site is now actively clearing the old Mapraider v1 cookies from your browser, which means you'll be logged out of M1 if you go to the M2 beta.

Thanks for the bug report UnShame - I'll take a look into it.

    *** Launch Info ***

@All: FYI -- If you've been watching my personal feed on Twitter (@FreakinMeany) then you already know that I've decided on a couple of dates for the launch of M2. On February 19th, a 10-day countdown will be featured on the site, until the new version goes live on March 1st. Actual time to launch is TBD, but it will likely be sometime after midnight EST (GMT -5:00) on February 28th.

This is a "soft" launch. In other words, I won't be making any public announcements beyond Twitter (@Mapraider and @FreakinMeany), Facebook and the site itself. Some time after launch (a few days, maybe a week or two -- not sure yet), I'll make some more wide-spread announcements.

The italian translation should be ready in time for that :)
  • FreakinMeany FreakinMeany — February 8, 2013
    Awesome, RennyManJr! Thanks.

@GEx: I think I found the (really obscure) bug that may have been causing the mixed-localization in the map popups you mentioned. I'll be pushing an update to the beta site this weekend that fixes it and also includes all of the up-to-date translation work everyone has done.

Hello again, FM. I'm back !!
Sorry, I haven't been around for some time. I was going through some tough times with all the trouble following the death of my father. But now that things have come to a rest, I'm ready to do the danish translation, if you still need it. Should I use this poeditor-thing, I've been reading about ??
