News: Repost: Translation Help needed

FreakinMeany FreakinMeany — April 2, 2012
We're looking for individuals to help with translation for Mapraider 2.0. If you or someone you know has a knowledge of gaming terminology, and is interested in donating some time to translate small bits of text from English, please contact us and let us know.

Based on Mapraider traffic over the last few years, we're hoping to start with translations for Dutch, French, German and Spanish, but any contributions are welcome and appreciated.

Ok, so I've signed on to Transifex, but I have a problem. Isn't there anything suppose to happen, when I click Join Team -> Join Language Translation ??

You must wait for FreakinMeaney's comfirmation to start translating.
EDIT: OK, another question, what does ''whimsical'' mean?

@Fobos/@GEx: Ah - that blue line is in the English source language. I see it. Not sure what that is. Just go ahead and ignore it.

@GEx: Review in that case is a noun... as in a written review of a map. I wish there was a way I could clarify these things in the app.

@JRGoesGreenland: After you log in, click on the language you want to work on, then choose one of the resource files (eg. "Global", "Account", "External"). In the dialog window that opens, click the "Translate Now" button and simply type the translations in each box and click "Save and Exit" when done.

@GEx: Whimsical... it's a genre (design style) of map. The literal definition is something like "impulsive or unpredictable sense of humor or disposition; extravagant, fanciful, or excessively playful expression." Maps in this genre are usually strange, silly or over-the-top.

EDIT: Darn, who knew that it's so hard to find a good translation for Claim Map lol...

    I don't know what's going on.....

FM. I've tried to to click the "Translate now" -button, but nothing is happening. The same way with the Join Team -> Join Language Translation.

@JRGoesGreenland: Strange. Wonder if it's a browser issue. Which one are you using? Do you have javascript disabled?
  • GEx GEx — September 29, 2012
    :\ Long shot, but...
@JR, in your userpage, are you set to Manager or Translator? Maybe that's the problem...

    Longer shot, but...
@FM is it possible at Transifex to send a recomendation or invite or something to him?

@FM I'm not sure, what browser I'm using. Where can I see that ?? ( I know, I'm a moron, when it comes to internet !!) But I am sure that javascript is not disabled.

@GEx I am set as translator, so that shouldn't be the problem.

As in, do you use Internet Explorer, Opera, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox or some other browser.
    I recommend to use Opera.

I would like to ask something about the translating. Can we have a chance to modify the language file after you start the Mapraider 2.0? Because I would like to test the file in the working webpage and edit the words what i translated incorreclyt.
