Well, I visit the site every day... and I honestly can't think of much to make the site better... except maybe:

    1) Make the "Post your comments" link in that news post work! It comes up with that "can't start new thread" message, which I'm sure you're familiar with :)

    2) Perhaps have some way of showing user comments on a map's main page, with an easy "quick comment" box. Kinda like NaliCity I guess. Even if you show the most recent 5 posts with a link to a new page for older comments. Maybe it's not the direction you want to go for the site but I think an easy comment interface would encourage a lot more discussion on maps and perhaps make the site more popular in the long run

    That's my 2c!

I just love this site. Ever since I discovered it, it's my first stop for everything map related and I always recommend it. Best part's the community moderated ratings which is awesome and fair.

Only improvement I can think of is the content sharing system info could be a little better for us noobs :)

You're doing a wonderful job guys!

I visit mapraider.com every once in a while. Sometimes when I'm about to die from boredom or stress in the office I work at, I quickly take a look at the latest UT 2004 and UT classic additions on mapraider and instantly feel great. Then, as soon as I arrive back home, I download the maps I spotted and eventually check them out in game later.
mapraider is a neverending source of joy to me and calling it perfect would be an understatement.
Please keep up the great work, folks - as a platform for mappers and players, mapraider is one of the most useful sites on the web in my opinion! :)

I love Mapraider, because 1) it has more maps for UT2004 than any other site I've been to, 2) the maps are well arranged, 3) I can express my opinion on maps, and 4) it's very easy to find new stuff.

    :D

I think mapraider is a great site. I like the format and layout. I trust the reviewers judgement and am rarely disappointed. I have a bit of a problem sometimes trying to tell which maps are playable on what platforms, but I don't guess that is mapraiders fault, but rather mine.

Hope the site continues to flourish and the highly-competent mapmakers continue their work.

    Thanks,
    faaus

mostly,i find the layout and features of your site perfect.
    more than perfect.. unique.
you let people review maps, and let people just give an educated score (and then it is user moderated, fantastic idea!!!!!!) very much a user driven model. the karma, and the all inclusiveness is great since i love almost all the game types included.
mostly, as an improvement; filefront is great, hands above the other one's (like file planet), but full of adds, not just adds, but go to screen 1, see adds, go to screen 2, see adds, go to screen 3 see adds, then download.
one screen is as much as i tolerate if i have a choice, and fortunately or unfortunately, i usually have a choice
but your bit-torrent solution for faster downloads 1) doesn't work for me (firewall?), and 2) has a file sharing site stigma
perhaps talking to gameservers.net or other folks who don't make you go through reams of pointless advertising to get a download started.
aw crap , there's a lizard on my monitor!
not to worry, they come in when the weather gets colder, just like the palmeto bugs

The site is awesome! I love it, especially the user-moderated anonymous ratings and the 'map picks' list, which I keep active... :D
Not much to add since the site is almost perfect, but if you're looking for suggestions, here a few ones... :P
    - I like Spoon's idea about an easier comment interface, it might bring more life to the site...
    - I never liked the idea of waiting a few days for an approval when you want to edit your map info or add more download links... An instant edit-map-info system please? ;)
    - Why there is not a box that calculates the total score when you go to rate maps? I am constantly going back and forth through the rating windows (Preview Score <-> Edit Score)...
    - Some of the maps I downloaded never were played or they just were unplayable for me... I ovbiously won't rate those maps. but they are stuck forever in the 'downloads you haven't rated' list... What about an option to control this list, or remove the non-rated maps from the list in a month or so?
I don't know what else to say... It's such a cool site...

I've noticed lately that the small screenshots on the left hand column no longer appear in the map detail screens.
    I use Mozilla Firefox 5.0
