CTF-UTR-Syntra

Red vs Blue. This classic CTF match will be carried out at nightfall in the Syntra mountains of Arborea. The u and cascaded form of this canyon offers possibilities not only for snipers.

Note: There is a discrepancy in the UT99 1.3 patch files that are included in this archive. If you have trouble launching the map, try installing the official UT99 CMP2 Patch 1.3 after installing the map.

In the summer of 2009 the ut99.org mappack team released a pretty big community mappack (UT99.org community mappack 2). But it was not just a simple UT mappack. It had some "new" gameplay features (new for ut1, but the ideas were "stolen" from ut2 but mainly from ut3). E.g. You could boost your weapons speed with the Berserk Powerup (as like you might know it from UT3), or you could collect the helmet to protect yourself against enemy snipers (again nearly as like in UT3).

Anyway, this is one of the maps which was not able to get in the final pack, ok not even in the planned bonuspack-patch bundle because of pathnode/bot problems (which are now solved... Hopefully)

No comment from the original author. I (Creavion) liked this map. S'Calain didn't feel like finishing it, so I gave it a try. I didn't manage to finish it in time for the patch pack, but since a nice guy named Delacroix offered his help with bot-pathing, it is now finally possible to release this map.

Some geometry is new, actual lighting (other than zone lighting and 1 sunlight) was added, meshes and all that kinda stuff are new additions as well. I tried my best to keep close to original atmosphere of the map.
