well hello everyone here
here is my lil question:

I rated DM-Ani-TwIsTeD-Method v1.0 a 4.6 cuz my opinion is that this map is not that good.
Now here comes the thing:

Total score 4.6
Computer AI 7
Construction 4
Gameplay 4
Moderation Unfair

Ratings Moderated NR
Pending 1

ok,,,, that 1 pending is not me,,, but someone else who rated this map a 6.

anyone know how this can be? :| i got it moderated unfair but there want anyone who rated it.... :\

    sounds about right.

i've had similar problems with the fairand unfair system.

    Moderated ONS-Dock13 1.0 - 6.8 - Unfair (7) - 6.52 ( 8 )

i rated this map a 6.8 it's current standing is 6.5. how can my rating be unfair?

what is the point of the fair and unfair ratings anyway?

There's a quirk in the system where if a rating sits for a LONG period of time, the minimum number of required moderations for each rating goes away. This was originally designed to keep ratings from getting stuck in the queue indefinitely, but it's proving to be a little bit inappropriate at times.

Mr Kill: The point of the fair/unfair rating system is to keep the scores more accurate and representative of the maps. With other websites where there is no moderation by the members, the scores usually end up being really skewed or simply innappropriate. For example, a crappy map might get a high score because a bunch of the mapper's friends rated it high. Or, some people may not like the author and rate the map poorly without playing it.

Our system doesn't get rid of all these cases, but it does help out.

Like I said, there are a few quirks we're trying to iron out. If you all have any suggestions of how to improve it, please feel free to post them - it's the only way I can improve the system.

Well I'm still not sure I understand how it all works but what you said makes sense as far as the ratings can get skewed.

Anyways, my question is how long is it before a rating goes from pending to being an actual rating? The feed back I got from FB on FrontPorch really helped me out by letting me know what some of the details were that needed more attention. I was just hoping to get some more. Be it good or bad. It's all good. :)
