Picks list == Nice addition.

Cool feature the `make your own ownage list` - just rounded up a few of mine. Good to just paste the url to the list in your sigs instead of getting asked over and over what your favourite maps are.

I may mention this in the INA forums at some stage, have you pimped this new feature over there and BU, UP?? I think a lot of players/mappers may just come and sign up and get using this feature if more people know about it.

good work. Top site.

I know BU's mentioned Mapraider before, I'm pretty sure UP has, and don't think PU has. A "favorite maps" sig link is actually a pretty cool idea though!

well i`ve adjusted my INA (sorry, atari) sig with a link to Mapraider (via my favourite map list)

First post in the thread - my sig at the bottom. If more people did this it would make good use of this new Mapraider feature and increase traffic.

I’m working on it. :D The feature on my site was done with ASP. I need to figure out how to do it with client-side JavaScript.

Is that the version done with goat's blood, or the one with chicken bones? ;)

It’s a new formula of my own; hog snout. I hired a pigmy to try and figure out a ritual for me, but I can’t understand a bloody word he says.

Thanks for the kind words, SF.

I haven't yet started to pimp this new feature because it has a few quirks that need to be worked out ( but don't let that stop you :) ) Rest assured that I will soon don my pimping gear! I want mappers to have more opportunities to expose their work to more gamers -- and I want gamers to be able to express their opinions about maps that interest them.

The pick lists, content sharing system and the other enhancements planned will hopefully do that while keeping maps from getting lost in a sea of submissions - which often happens as you probably know.

Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to post :D

    --- speaking of quirks:

One example is if you're a map author. Your own maps are displayed on the right side of your profile page, but the screenshots are smaller than your map picks which are displayed in the main portion of the page - seems backwards (at least in the case of mappers). Still experimenting with the page layout to make it better.

If you're interested... another cool part of the pick lists is that you can really pull some interesting reports based on what everyone has picked. It's almost like a whole different type of rating system where you can see which maps (or even game types) are the most popular. I'm hoping to combine this information with favorite authors and other data to create a "smart" browsing system that will replace the "browse" area currently on the site. Should be awesome.

FB> seems you really want to get these things working properly so good luck to you. Something I would like to see is where the mappers maps are listed on the right (or text at the bottom ) are listed by latest date rather than alphabetiacally. Because at the moment the maps that are most prominent on my list are ones I made for UT that are very old and mostly disowned by me now ;) I would like them sorted by ut/ut2k3 too (with the option of specifying which game to list first). Actually looking at it now it doesn`t seem to be listed in strict alphabetical order, submitted date order, or release date order... I can`t work it out ;)

So it would look like this if we could list them how we wanted/by release order:

UT2k3 Maps < top most (on picture list)or left most (on `more maps by` text on lower map detail screen)
    -----------
    Dom-Starfall
    Dm-SharpfishPark
    etc

    Ut99 Maps
    ------------
    Dm-Resistor
    CTF-Affinity][
    etc

rather than all bunched together. No biggy, but would be a great `tweak` to your brilliant site from a mappers (and maybe players) point of view.

    Keep up the good work
