"You can remove ratings on your rating history page now " Why is that?
  • FreakinMeany FreakinMeany — July 4, 2011
Because I've noticed that people have rated maps 1 or 5 when they mistakenly rate one or changed their mind about wanting to rate one. I figured that having no rating was better but the ability to remove can certainly come out easily enough if everyone thinks it's a crappy idea :)

Oh, the ratings you've made on other peoples map. lol now I see.

Large screenshots may kind of backfire on you, most old ones are very small. But single-screenshot maps look pretty cool on the frontpage, like a pop art project of some kind :)

If I choose " All Maps" , there isn`t a little "Sign" which tells you what Kind of Map it is=> example UT2004, UT3. That "Signs" are Present in a MapRider v 1.0 , and i think they are good and usefull
  • FreakinMeany FreakinMeany — July 12, 2011
I know what you mean, LittleMOM. But I had to get rid of the signs because they were a major pain in the ass to create and manage. And because it's difficult to represent every game in a 16x16 pixel image, a lot of people were confused by them. Creating them has delayed the addition of more game systems to the site, in fact. The real reason for the little "signs" in Mapraider v1 was because there was no way to filter out game systems that you don't play. With Mapraider 2, you can so it's less of an issue (click the wrench icon at the top of the game system list on the home page or main browse page).

However, you can still easily see the game system without going to the map's page. Just hover over any map screenshot (anywhere) for a couple of seconds and it's displayed just below the screenshot along with the game type, genre, size, player count, and rating and comment count.

I have thought about putting the game system abbreviation (UT, UT2004, etc) when you're looking at "all maps" or "any game system" but not sure yet since it has the potential to make the browse screen too busy.
