Beta Testing Information

FreakinMeany FreakinMeany — July 2, 2011
Thank you for your participation in helping test Mapraider 2.0 prior to release. The following are important details that you should be familiar with as you help test the site:

General Information
  • To report bugs/issues/provide feedback/etc, please post in the Mapraider 2.0 beta test forum topic. When reporting bugs, please start your subject with "BUG:" and include a description of the bug, what you were doing when you found it and any other details that may help in debugging. An example bug report is available.

  • Anything you do on the site (comment, rate, etc) is temporary and doesn't affect your live account. Feel free to edit/delete anything as often as you'd like. I will occassionally be synchronizing the live site data with the beta site, which will reset everything to match the data on the live site.

  • You will need to log into the server to access the site. Visit the below URL and enter the username and password to do so. Please do not share this information, or information/screenshots of Mapraider 2 with others:

    http://beta.mapraider.com
    Username: betatest
    Password: m2test11

Once the site loads, you will be able to log in with your existing Mapraider account as normal.

  • The site may have periods of slowness. This is expected as the site will "go to sleep" often since it won't have a lot of traffic.

Known Issues
  • The site's translation to other languages is not complete, so if your browser isn't set to English, you may see some missing and/or bad translations.

  • The site works in IE, but has not been made completely compatible yet.

  • Map pack support is not yet completely integrated, so pack pages and related maps may appear buggy.

  • The map submission process is not available for testing yet.

  • Email notifications are currently disabled for testing.

  • There is a lot of cleanup to the CSS and Javascript yet to be done, so don't be too critical of my sloppy markup ;)

    Hi John,

There's a typo in the username you have written in the above post.

Oops :) Thanks for catching that!

Does "map submission process" include the entire map managment panel?

Yup. It's actually composed a few components, including the approval and notification system. Working on getting it completed as soon as I can. It's a major departure from the current site and I'm sure there will be plenty of positive and negative feedback about it, which I'm anxious to hear.
