I posted in the Unreal Forums about uploading maps to a site like Mapraider. I got one response listing a different website to post mods and maps to. I don't understand why everyone keeps pushing their work to all over the place when this place is the easiest way to find what your looking for.

That was a great post on the UT forums.. You ought to do something like this for a living... :D
Only thing I am afraid of is that it seems to be a lot of console people in this now, while the game is the same, basically, the way the 2 groups (pc and console) use the game and mods, etc. is different.
It still seems that this would be the site of choice for getting out your contribution in an easy to find manner for users. -

Well, when I had time, I used to do a lot of promoting of the site around the various web sites, and I own my own advertising firm, so I get a lot of practices and it's sort of second nature :D
You're right about the console vs. PC thing. I've been meaning to sit down and think about what that means to the site, but haven't had a chance. Definitely something I'm thinking about though. -

I don't know anything about consoles, really. It looks like you would just have a separate section for PS3 stuff. Or, maybe just a link to the PS version if one exists for a specific map. I don't know if mods work on the PS. -

ps3's do indeed support mods and custom content, it is my understanding though that some things such as music needs to be epic. I hate to butt in on a conversation but was trollin the hood here and noticed the talk of mods... caught my eye.
how about incorporating user mods and skins? I am aware thats more work,, though it would be a welcome addition to MR and would muster traffic as well. I can help you some with testing stuff here in about a month or so when I am finished with modding my server if you want. BTW can also help with testing some maps at that point.

I keep getting errors trying to download maps for UT3. Some of the maps have been deleted from the hosting sites, some come back with an error that user name and password are incorrect. There are a lot of interesting maps out there. -

And yeah, I'm not sure either. Even if they do want to spread it everywhere, they can always add the links to the profile pages here too. When Mapraider 2.0 is finished, I'm sure things will be busier around here :)
