Before joining the Unreal Tournament 2003, Cleopatra ordered her slaves to build a tight and challenging training arena where she could enhance her one on one fighting skills. There are rumours going on, saying that lost souls are haunting the place. Every now and then at night time it seems as though you can hear whispering cries in the wind, longing for a saviour to set them free.

Finally a UT2k map that both looks and plays exceptional in 0ldSk00l 1 on 1 matches. ;) Tried to keep the polycount at a reasonable level, runs quite well even with a GeForce 2.

There are 2 world detail settings used in the map, "Normal" and "High". If set to Normal, some static meshes and all particle effects except one lightening spawner in the skylevel is turned of.

When I first saw this map I didn't know if it as for UT or UT2003. Not sure if that's good or bad, but what really caught my attention was, for one of the few times, the fact that it looked like a map that was made to play -- while still having some nice design and eye-candy elements.

It's definitely an "old-school" style map, but I'm beginning to believe that some of the best UT2003 maps will be done that way.

Ok I played and liked it. High quality game play :) and ok quality graphics but who cares were playing a fast paced FPS right now. Ok blah blah gameplay remine me of the UT days when everything wasn't about detail and getting every weaopn into a single map. Lots of Z-axis but I'm really getting sick and tired of seeing so many jump pads in so many maps now. The majority..no all of the jumppads could be replaced by cool looking lifts which makes your position slightly less predictable instead of being sent on the same path and angle each time. Overall this goes for a lot of maps. Choose to use lifts rather than jumppads unless absolutely necessary. Still the map is great I score it high for gameplay and bots but slightly lower for looks. Get it and play it. If you don't like the gameplay well just go play some of that Curse 3 crap.

I searched tthrough the posts here to find this, so maybe find someon ewith some input on it..and found this thread.. I have read such good things about this map, and I want it..and every place I download it from I can't get it to play..right...Looks great sounds great..But both download sites, same thing, never happened with any other maps before and I have a decent machine, and good FX Video card...all the bonus packs installed and latest patch of course..
All the bots do is dance into each others face with their guns, but no shooting happens just a rather amusing in your face with my gun dance..Any ideas mates in why this is happening I have seacrhed all over for one that works to no avail..and the same thing happens each time I download this map..
I'd appreciate any feedback mates..

Wow. That's really really weird. Personally, this one plays fine for me. Never had any problems (in fact, the bots can give me a run for my money).

Are you running a fresh copy of UT2003 or have you installed any modifications (other than the bonus packs)? Are you running any mutators while playing the map? Do you have the latest patch applied?

Hopefully you'll figure it out, cuz this map is pretty fun - if you like a good solid game anyway.

Yeah I like a solid game....it is wierd, as I said in my post, tis Fresh copy Ut2K3, bonus packs and latest patch aye.. I mean I can play AngelHeart maps with no problems..now that will test any machine out..:lol:
No Mods..Only mutators I play with is Super Bots, and 3 weopen mutators..Shock Sniper, CPMG, and LRFRL..Thats it...Super Bots has never done anything weird to any other maps, and believe me I have many many maps...You know how it is..
I don't even hear sound, with that map, and no shooting, just bots dancing in each others face waving their guns around..like a slapstick comedy show.. I guess Cleo doesn't like my rig...to bad as you said heard great things about the map..Just my bloody luck..I can try shuting off Super Bots and try it again, maybe Cleo doesn't like Super Bots.. ;)

If I were a bettin' man, I'd bet that for some reason, Super Bots is causing the havoc. Best of luck and if/when you get to try the map out, be sure to let us know what you think.

:O Blimey mate, maybe you should become a bettin' bloke.. I went ahead reinstalled Cleo's tomb, and gave it a go without Super Bots..and was greeted with the sounds and expierence of geting my arse blown to bits.. ..I'd say it works..Took me a minute to adjust to the fact it really was working, then gave it a go..

Nice contruction layout, good solid game flow, and weopen placement..no static glitches I could see..Only played one game, was so chuffed wanted to get back here and tell you it bloody well worked..

I'll give it a much better look and spectate it also, tis the best way IMO to really rate a map is play it and spectate all the bots see if everyone is flowing without problems.

..None of the other tomb maps minded Super Bots, Ra, Anubis Horus, Hathor, but Cleo doesn't like them I guess, and the Queen has spoken.. :lol:

But from what I could see, in action, the bots are pretty Godlike and smart as it is in her tombs, maybe they don't need super bots..a gift feom Cleo I guess.. ;)

I wonder if I should drop the mapper a line,I think his emails in the text file.. really should be mentioned in the read me file, lot of people use Super Bots..and may not know this..tis not exactly a bug.. well unless one uses Super bots and others should know that before they toss it out, for that would be to bad its a good map..

I shall keep that Super Bot mutator in mind if I even run into an other unexplained not working maps in the future..That did happen in one other map, now I think about it..couldn't rate that map either..also, Hmm shall try that one out again also..without Super Bots..Now I am curious as why some maps may not accept the Super Bots mutator..

Anyway thanks for helping me solve the mystery mate,I hate unsolved mysteries.. I certainly am not disapointed in the map for sure..It a keeper I can tell already, and now soon I can finally get to rate what I thought was going to stay in my maps left to rate list forever, can't rate maps you can't play..

Well done and spot on mate..thanks again for helping me to get this map to work..now thats community..

I am ready for some fragging fun now, so I can rate this map, so catch you later, 'ave a g'day and a good New Year..
We can start counting the days for UT2004.. :)

HA HA! Great news! And I'm glad that after all that, it looks like you enjoyed your first runs in the map ;) :D

I hadn't yet tried Super Bots myself (though I do have it), so it's good to know that I'll need to keep my eye out for this little glitch.
