Thanks guys! It's FAR, far, far from dead. I've just been deciding to spend all of my spare time working on M2 to get it out the door. It'll be worth it in the end.
@JRGoesGreenland: I haven't set a specific date (because I don't want to promise something and then fail to meet expectations), but I will say that the site will be going live very soon! I'll follow up with an official launch date when I am confident we can meet it.
In the meantime, there will be a few other videos I'll be posting showing very detailed peeks at the new features and functionality. New blog entries on the M2 development blog are being posted along with these milestones toward release, so check it out if you haven't already -- the latest post talks briefly about the visual design and what it represents for those who might be curious :) -
