Unreal Editor 2.0 - 63 zone limit?!?!?! HELP!!!

Descend5 Descend5 — March 09, 2012
I have been working on a map for a long time (havent come up with a name yet) and I have hit a problem. It turns out that if you have 64 zones or more, unreal editor seems to take an existing zone at random and apply the characteristics of that random zone to the new zone when you rebuild, regardless of what zone actor you have. Because of this an empty ice canyon is now a lava zone, even though I applied the DESIRED zone type I wanted; there are no lava zone actors in there. as a result production on my currently gigantic map has been halted. I fear I will be unable to finish. :( please help, I started this map over a year ago and worked on it since. The map alone without packages is 14.6MB I would hate for all this determined work to go to waste. I am about 78% done. and it has turned out so well thus far.

Thank you so much in advance.

You meant that your level got the zone limit? so, remove some zones and make your map smaller, someone can make a script to break the ammount of zone limits of the unreal editor, but, i think if you change it may break online compatibility, and everyone who wishes have the map will need to have the modified editor, what is a lot complicated for just one map, so, i recommend to remove some zones or make your map smaller/something like that.

    Hope it helps.
    Thanks

I had the same type of prob with my map dm-juniper lipr is rite, just remove some zones sometimes the editor can be fickle. maybe fill the empty canyon with a static mesh that goes with the map if its just gonna wind up empty space give it eye candy. good luck man!!!!!!!

    Dude.
    Editor 2.0 = UT1999
    Editor 3.0 = Unreal2/UT2003/UT2004

And his problem is with Unreal Ed 2.0, so, there aren't any static meshes, and BSP Holes are very often at the old editor version, what make it be a little more complicated than the UEd 3.0.

    Hope it helps.
    Thanks. :)

    i shut up now
  • LIPRampage LIPRampage — March 27, 2012
Why? Don't you have UT99? There is no necessity to shut up, but somethings change from UEd 2.0 to UEd 3.0, but almost everything is the same, like the layout and some things :/

Well, I guess I wont be getting anywhere with my map unless I start deleting zones.
That is just a little disapointing that there is no other (practical) solution.

And with regards to naliweapons 3, I am watching its production.
It is not yet finished and there are no beta releases available for download.
But its just about finished so every once in a while be sure to check this page,
    http://www.moddb.com/mods/nali-weapons-3
this is where ferali posts his updates and screenshots, the download link will also be there when the mod is finished.
You will get lots of info on the mod and its production there.
