Guide Lines: 1.* You can submit as many maps as you want, the more maps you do the better your chances of winning. MUST be a Team Monster Hunt map* 2. Your map must be unique. No coping other maps or editing preexisting maps. You may get ideas or use things from other maps, with the authors permission if you would like. 3. There is no dead line. The challenge will continue until it appears obvious that it is time to choose a winner. The soft deadline is January 1st, 2009. 4. There must be at least 10 maps entered into the contest. We encourage more mappers though.
Submission: To submit your map simply make a new thread on the forums in the "Mapping Contest" section of the planetmonsterhunt.com boards. You can use planetmonsterhunt.com to upload your map if you need a place to host it or you can contact gopostal (at planetmonsterhunt.com) or myself (at planetmonsterhunt.com) and we'll help you get it hosted so players can download it and play it.
All contestants must have a valid shipping address to receive gifts. Failure to provide a valid shipping address will void your submission. You may give the shipping address after you have won or before. This does not matter.
Criteria: The criteria is going to be pretty basic, as I want you guys to really use your imagination on this. 1. Has to be a team monster hunt map. 2. Limited number of cinematic scenes, best not to use any. (They cause errors) 3. Must be server ready and multiplayer friendly. 4. No box rooms, miss aligned or untextured walls. 5. Needs to follow some kind of theme throughout the map. 6. Must be visually appealing. (decorations, details, lighting, etc..)
If you map requires external mods, please get permission from the author.
Guys, this isn't rocket science. You guys use some common sense on what we are looking for here. If you can do that, you'll get your free thumb drive and if you place 1st, 2nd or 3rd you'll win your prize.
Judging: Will be determined by the members of the Monster Hunt community. There will be a poll for all submitted maps running for 2 weeks after we have received all submissions. All PlanetMonsterHunt.com members will be eligible to vote on this poll, new members are encouraged to sign up and vote for your favorite map. In case of a tie, a separate poll will be made to determine the winner, this poll will run for 5 days. The two planetmonsterhunt.com admins (gopostal and Skillz) will not be voting on this. This will strictly be determined by the community.
Deadline: The soft deadline for this will be on January 1st, 2009. However, if we do not have enough maps by this time, the contest will continue to go. If this occurs, you'll be given a 2 week notice on the end of the contest, after January 1st, 2009. This will be determined by the number of submitted maps we have received by January, 1st 2009. If you are planning on submitting a map, you can let us know and we'll hold off for as long as we can while you get your map done, if it's getting close to the deadline.

*PlanetMonsterHunt.com reserves the right to disqualify maps that do not meet the criteria. This is to weed out the players who want to throw together "two boxes, four monsters and a boss" and call it quits.
