Obviously yes
Somehow, a minute ago, I have had the impulse to look into this forum thing now and had a feeling im reading the latest posts, and now i see these "latest" posts are 2 years old. It says WHO IS ONLINE - KFH FOamyGal and 202 guests, wth.

But i know how we get this thing alive. Its very easy. It works like a trigger in UED. So here is my event:

(Trigger settings: Trigger once only = True; aimed provocation = True; Trigger Delay 1.75s (Well the forum is a bit laggy i think), Event= Cause Reactions Collsion Radius 4096 (That enough for this small forum eh)
Dispatcher: Tag= Cause Reactions, Event#1 = mes1, Event#2= mes2 Event#3= mes3 Event#4=mes4 Event Delay mes1 = 0.5 Event Delay Mes 2= 0.5 Event Delay Mes 3= 0.5 Event delay Mes 4 = 0.5
Special event#1 tag mes1: Broadcast=True Obj=Display Message; Message="UT3 sucks!
Special Event #2: tag mes2 Broadcast=True Obj=Display Message; Message=DECK16 sucks!
Special Event#3: tag=mes3 Broadcast= True Obj Display Message; Message=Everything sucks!
Special Event#4: tag=mes4 Broadcast=True Obj Display Message; Message=Fake blondes suck" (even very good I was told :D )

*press rebuild paths*

Wohoo SPAM

(and now i go and hide in a shelter, countless flames will follow, ah, lets hope this will do it. ;)

hang in there, there will be more ppl as the game gets fixed. Most are waiting for the next patch which will fix a lot of broken stuff including but not only the editor itself. Once this happens there will be a lot more releases. The smarter mappers are not releasing maps yet due to the fact that 90% of servers will not run them yet and be that the case they may as well put in a little more effort on them. When epic releases this next patch it is supposed to handle both the level change bug and compression. Those are the two main things in the way atm.

come back and comment if you would like to se this forum build!!!!!!!!!!

Hehe its not UT3's fault at all, MrFranks Post was from 2006, there was no UT3 yet back then and there were not really more posts going on than right now.

Regarding how many people come here to download, its remarkable that not even 1% of them goes to post in the forum, probably too lazy to register and no interest to participate the community. :If Meany would want this forum to grow, I think he should limit downloads to "registered people only".

    MrFranks Post was from 2006

yes your are right about ut3 but ut2k4 was all but dead at the time except for people like u and me? whom just play the game no matter what. The vast quantity of players had left ut2k4 by then is what i mean.

I also agree that people should be required to login or create an account to download maps not just to upload, I believe that would make the biggest difference.

The players do know mapraider, they also know they can just scan through until they find what they want and simply grab it... guilty myself though I do try to contribute here when I have a chance.

If meany makes people register it will get more interactivity, though I don't know he would have time to or the desire to baby sit things. As you no doubt know the more interactivity the more baby sitting because there are a lot of people that just have no respect.

on the other hand, we are contributing... that is a start and believe me when I say with the release of ut3 things will start to pick up around here.

My team has four maps in progress, a couple would make your head spin they are so unbelievably nicely made but as I said in the prior post we are not releasing anything until the game gets properly patched. It does me no good to put custom maps in my server if it dumps any client that does not already have the map while changing levels. We have been dealing with this for over a month and are extremely anxious to have custom maps on our server however what is the point when dealing with the patch issues?

I personally have stopped mapping until this is solved. I am not everyone but I know a few mappers personally that will echo that sentence.

anyway hang in there and watch as ut3 gets straight this site will pick up a lot no matter what, I do think registration though would help people to come together and talk / share / help each other more.

Mapraider has always been more of a map catalog kinda site than a community gathering site. As I see it it was never Freakin Bastard's intention to create such a site. I agree it would be more fun if the forum was a little bit
more active, but that's just not the case. I don't like Mapraider any less. If you're just interested in downloading maps, Mapraider is perfect.
Although I appreciate you guys are trying to revive the forum. :)

If you're just interested in downloading maps, Mapraider is perfect.

so is filefront and many others that are much much less personal without the efforts put into making a forum etc. not to mention the rating system and many other things mapraider has involved with it. That said it is obvious at some point someone had intentions of this forum to be used. why even bother with all that if there was never any intention?????

hey whatever it is only advise and guess what... you can value it at the amount i charged you for it.

Saka's right - the goal of Mapraider is to build a rich catalog of maps. I wouldn't complain if more people chatted in the forum, but that's not why people come here.

But there is discussion going on. Most of it just now takes place in the comments on the actual map pages. Mapraider 2.0 will feature maps that have active discussions, and I've thought about adding the list to the current version of the site too, but just have been too busy.

I always pictured MapRaider as more of a map site than a community site too :D

How is MapRaider v2.0 coming along??

yeah good question but no one seems to take care of this website anymore
